Nature of the service

Quran Chat is an Islamic learning platform that uses AI to help you explore the Quran and Islamic teachings. Our mission is to make authentic Islamic knowledge more accessible while encouraging responsible use and verification with qualified scholars.

AI assistant, not religious authority

The chatbot on this platform is an AI assistant, not a religious authority or scholar. It is not qualified to issue fatwas, resolve scholarly disagreement, or replace the guidance of a qualified human scholar. Responses are generated by Quran Chat's own AI setup: an open model (Qwen3) configured for Quran Chat, which answers from the Mufti Taqi Usmani translation and Ma'ariful Qur'an and checks its citations and Arabic quotes. It runs on the operator's own hardware, and our current practice is not to send user messages to third-party AI providers. Responses are intended for informational and educational purposes only.

AI limitations

Quran Chat does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of AI-generated content. Content is provided “as is” and may not reflect the most current information. AI-generated content does not reflect the official views, positions, or opinions of Quran Chat. You should verify important information with authoritative sources.

Quran Chat is optimised for English. You can write in other languages, but answers in them are less reliable.

Scholarly consensus and religious nuance

We do not guarantee scholarly consensus in any AI-generated content. Islamic scholarship involves nuance, context, and differing valid opinions; an AI cannot replicate the full depth of human scholarship. AI responses may contain errors, oversimplifications, or outdated information. By using the service, you accept these limitations.

Verify with qualified scholars

For sensitive religious, legal, or personal matters-including matters of fiqh, worship, family, or life decisions-you should verify with a qualified Islamic scholar. Do not rely solely on AI responses for such decisions. Quran Chat is a learning tool and a starting point for reflection, not a substitute for qualified human guidance.

No liability for decisions

The platform is not liable for any decisions you make or actions you take based on AI-generated responses. You use the service at your own responsibility. We encourage you to use the chatbot as a supplement to, not a replacement for, scholarly and pastoral guidance.

Service availability

The chat runs on the operator's own hardware and has usage limits. Service may be interrupted, delayed, or rate-limited. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

Islamic mission

Despite these limitations, we remain committed to our Islamic mission: to make learning about the Quran, through the Mufti Taqi Usmani translation and Ma'ariful Qur'an tafsir, more accessible and to point users toward authentic sources and qualified scholars. We encourage a spirit of learning, verification, and respect for traditional scholarship.
